What is Vitamin C?
One of the first vitamins discovered is vitamin C. At the beginning of the 20th century, a Hungarian named Albert Szent-Györgyi was able to isolate it from peppers and cabbage. In 1933 the molecular structure was determined by the British chemist Walter Norman Haworth. Vitamin C is water-soluble and is found naturally in many foods. Unfortunately, unlike some animal species, humans cannot synthesize it themselves and are therefore dependent on its intake through food or nutritional supplements.

What is vitamin C responsible for in the body?
Vitamin C is and should be an essential part of a healthy diet. The function of vitamin C in your body for the biosynthesis of collagen, L-carnitine and various neurotransmitters Vitamin C is required. Vitamin C is also involved in protein metabolism. Collagen is an essential component of your connective tissue and supports the normal function of your blood vessels, cartilage, bones, skin, teeth and gums. Vitamin C can protect your cells from oxidative stress and has been proven to regenerate other oxidations in your body. It can also target your immune system. Most vitamin C can be detected in your white blood cells (leukocytes). But large amounts can also be detected in the eyes, the adrenal glands and the pituitary gland in the brain.

What is the benefit of calcium L-ascorbate?
In addition to the cheap ascorbic acid, which changes the acid level in the stomach, there are various other forms of vitamin C. One of them is calcium L-ascorbate, a natural form of vitamin C, which after consumption turns into calcium and ascorbate in the stomach. ions is hydrated. The stomach acid then converts the ascorbate ions into ascorbic acid. This means it does not increase the acid concentration in the stomach, which would cause digestive problems, diarrhea and nausea in many people. Our stomach-friendly calcium L-ascorbate can be described as buffered vitamin C. Calcium ascorbate is a buffered salt form of water-soluble ascorbic acid (vitamin C). The ascorbic acid is bound to the calcium to buffer the acid. This is particularly important for people with a sensitive gastrointestinal tract and is therefore tolerated much better. The pH value of our stomach-friendly, buffered vitamin C is between 6.8 and 7.4. Simple ascorbic acid has a pH of just 2.5. So it is significantly more acidic. Calcium ascorbate powder in its purest form, i.e. without any additives.

How is our Core Calcium-L-Ascorbate taken?
Many people cannot or do not want to swallow capsules, tablets or softgel capsules. Our highly pure, pure calcium ascorbate powder is particularly suitable for these people. Very easy to dose, with a meal with a glass of water or another cold liquid to cover your daily vitamin C requirement.
